GIS-intrinsic CAMA - 2008
CAMA has always been a part of GIS.  All of the advances in GIS now make it possible to use the GIS to build a GIS-intrinsic CAMA system.  A GIS-intrinsic CAMA is:
  • A single system;
  • Built using GIS;
  • To perform appraisal and assessment administration functions;
  • Where CAMA is just part of, belonging to, and inherent in the GIS
This results in a CAMA system with all of the functionality and features of GIS in addition to a single database (geodatabase).  By developing it as a single system, no longer will expensive, resource-intensive, integration be necessary to bring GIS and CAMA systems together to get the job done.
This paper explores the potential benefits of GIS-intrinsic CAMA and describes the development of a GIS-intrinsic building sketching function as a proof of concept and how it can be used to take advantage of GIS technology to streamline the process of gathering building information.

CAMA/AA Immersion in GIS - 2005
This paper will describe many of the areas that stand to benefit by progressing beyond simple GIS integration to CAMA/AA immersion in GIS.  From today’s Integrated CAMA/AA and GIS systems we can envision the future.  In order to effectively provide the most comprehensive benefits, accurate information and highest level of customer service, assessors need to advance beyond today’s integration to total immersion.  Total immersion will allow the assessor to maximize GIS, workflow, data integration, and information sharing within the assessor's office, across departments, and to the public to more effectively meet his or her appraisal and assessment needs.
